First off, I highly doubt that this is a fake deck. Bicycles are so numerous and cheap that it's unlikely that there would be any benefit to a potential counterfeiter. Second off, I understand that the box sometimes varies depending on the type of customer the USPCC is selling to (whether they are a wholesaler, international customer, etc.) So, I wouldn't worry about it.

Hey there!

I don't think these are fake. The USPCC produced a version of the Bicycle Standard deck that is not sold in the USA which has a gold border just like this. I don't see anything that would tell me this is counterfeit.

One thing to think about here is that every other detail of the deck looks perfect. If someone was creating a counterfeit deck, it would usually be the small details that were wrong, not a very obvious detail like the gold border. When you see something like this, start looking to see if there was ever a legitimate printing that included that detail. In this case, it is a fairly common printing that people in many markets are just not familiar with.

My source - The USPCC International Playing Card Catalog. This is the selection of playing cards they offer for international resellers. http://www.bicyclecards.com/catalogs/USPCInternational_Catalog.pdf. Check out pages 3 and 4.

Enjoy!

These are real bycicle cards. These are the decks i bought when i could find them in magic shops.
If you want to know what fake bycicles are like, i bought 2 packs in a local shop thinking they were the real deal. Boy was i wroing. The paper was thick, the ink bled, the finnish wasn't there and the cards ripped in seconds.

There are many, many fake bicycle decks (old tuck box) and this one you have is original. Yes they are for international (mostly Canada/Asia market), Back a couple of years ago those with gold borders and the standart were sleighty wosrt than now. Back in 2009-2010 bicycle standart were bad quality (u open the box and they are all bended or the back is huge misprinted or they wear off faster), they were like Seconds or so. Look at AceofSpades for the year of printing and google "how to date your deck of cards bicycle".
I see now from one of your pics that the AceOfSpades is M1910 or smth.. which means it is made in 2010. Your deck probably isn't at optimal quality.

I hope you don't mind me resurrecting this thread... I bought these (so called) Bicycle cards on UK Amazon Marketplace, and either they're fake or someone was having a very bad day at the Bicycle factory...I wonder what they were translating to get "Senior Recreation Club".

Now THAT appears to be a legitimately illegitimate deck. Whoever faked those cards does not have a fluent English proofreader. You can rest assured that the USPCC does. I'd reach out to the seller to arrange for a refund.
