I've been noticing lately that i've been doing to many tricks that are flashy and flourishy that just make your spectators think that you are incredibly good with your hands.... not that you can do magic.
then i go and do a simple trick where they don't see anything that happens and they think i'm the devil reincarnated.;)
just wondering if anyone has any simple tricks that hit hard they'd like to share.

thanks,-jake

Bodyguards! It's a simple, impromptu card trick by Jay Sankey. One of the first serious tricks I learned, It's become one of standby tricks, one that is always there and always works. Never fails to get reactions for me. Come up with a neat presentation and bodyguards can serve you as a great trick, it's served me very well!

You said you didn't want tricks that are flashy, so go back to the basics. Do things that seemingly have no moves which is what I love. Biddle Trick, Out of this World and the classic one ahead principal (Bad Influence is a good variation) are great to do.
