Hello guys, I am in a guitar competition, the competition is august 27th.
After playing to the backing track they give you
you have 2 minutes of improv time to do whatever you like, they said i can even set my guitar on fire if i want to, I was thinking a bout doing a guitar levitation,
are there any such effects out there?
I wantd to levitated right after i get done playing.
any help is appreciated, thank you =]

Hmm...

I can't think of anything. I mean maybe if you had some REALLY REALLY strong invisible thread but otherwise I'm not sure.

That sounds awesome, but I have no clue how I would do that.
Maybe you should ask CK, doesn't he work with Copperfield?
I've seen him so many times in the past itricks chats, asking him that shouldn't be a problem.
Try to contact any stage magician you can to find out what the best way to go about doing this is.
Good luck!

Look at dan and dave's. They say they have some really nice invisible thread loops.
good luck, and practice a lot. You don't want your guitar falling.

I'm hoping you're kidding, if not. Do you realize how much an electric guitar weighs? My Les Paul weighs almost ten pounds! (I think, I've never actually weighed it)

first thing i thought of was some sort of pole device...

if its dim lit, can have some sort of suppoert go behind you through the curtains
runs up your leg, out your chest and attatched to the guitar (the pole through chest is hidden by the guitar itself)

but something like this it wont move if you wanted it to..just stay in mid air

hope you get what i mean lol
would be easier to draw :)

In a rock concert
well, I had an idea:

If you are going to play in a stage and the background is black, you could get a little table and paint it black, all the way, so that it disguises itself with the background, then you put your guitar on top of the table (the table needs to have weels) and have it off stage, when you are ready to begin, you snap your fingers and then the guitar comes flying from one side of the stage (obviously on top of the table) because of the table painted in black, it will give the illusion that the guitar just flyed to you, you then just connect it to your ampli and play in front of the table, so you dont have problem playing and moving.

It's just an Idea.

EDIT::

I wantd to levitated right after i get done playing.

i just reread that, if that's the case, you could have a string or rope attached to the table and once you finish playing, you just put your guitar on top of the table and they just have to pull the table back inside, while you wave goodbye to your guitar.
