Hey Everyone I have just started with Card magic... but don't know any tricks really (and don't have money to buy the DvD's/tricks..)
So could someone tell me some easy trick to start with?

Thank you :)

go to a library and borrow some books on magic. Preferable the Royal Road to Card Magic. We can't really teach you anything. That's like going to a music forums and asking people to teach you how to play mozart. It's an art that you are going to have to refine yourself.

Clarrus is right about the library thing...not so sure about the mozart though

If you really want to get up and running with card magic, you're gonna need to invest some money in books and dvds. I strongly recommend Greg Wilson's "Double Take" DVD as a starter - you get a good grounding in some of the fundamentals, some great tricks to do with them and the chance to see what card magic should look like in Greg's performances.

After that, I'd be directing you towards books like Card College by Roberto Giobbi.

I know you say you don't have money to spend on magic, but you're not going to get very far unless you invest in the correct resources. Greg's DVD is fairly cheap and cheerful and a great, great investment.

Agree. Royal Road to Card Magic is as cheap as chips (as we say in the UK) and gives you a great base for learning card magic. Make sure you get some decent cards to destroy with hours of practicing. I use Bikes.

If you put the time in with the Royal Road you'll find that it is a hell of a lot easier to understand other sources and DVDs you might purchase.

By the way...don't under-estimate the power of the tricks in RRTCM, They are tehcnically straight forward compared to some of the stuff you'll find on the web but there are some gems like 'Design for Laughter'.

I guarantee you'll be addicted to card magic within hours of picking up this great source.

The Expert at the Card table is a great book, if you're willing to read through it. A lot of good information-and i think its online for free as a PDF download...so you wont waste money if you dont like it.

Get the Aaron Fisher Card fundamentals in the 1 on 1 section...i havn't downloaded it yet, but i hear great things.

Also a tip, take a deck of cards EVERYWHERE you go...and just play with them in your hands, get comfortable with them and make every move natural through practice.

That's all i got. Welcome to T11 and the world of card magic...anything i've read above sounds about perfect also...
:)

Bicycle Brand Playing cards are the usuals. For what it's worth, this has already been mentioned in this topic.

I stand by my recommendation of Greg Wilson's DVD - it's one DVD, it's cheap and has a helluva lot of content for the price. I would go with this as a starter over Daryl's encyclopedia any day of the week.
