Jerry Nuggets REPRINT?

Hey guys so today i was at the place where i buy all my cards from and i saw that they were selling 3 decks (blue red and black) of Jerry's Nuggets and the price for each one is about 60USD (For my country the amount is RM200) But the funny thing about it was that they say its a reprint and not the actual old deck. The shop assistant says that it is another reprint from the US Playing Card Company. So should i buy it? I have not heard of any reprints and i am worried that its is a fake.

Probably a fake. If USPCC was making a reprint it would cost what most reprints cost....about the same price as the average custom deck. $5:00-$7.00

For $60 bucks you can get a brick of Steamboats! LOL...Seriously that seems a little high for me considering he admits it isn't the real deal.

I've seen reprints on Ebay that go around $60. Obviously they are no where near the quality of the real Jerry's, but if you think having a replica is worth it then go for it.

It's technically against the law. Ever seen those bicycle personalized cards ads as one of the ad cards when you open a new pack of cards from USPCC? Somebody just got an image of the back design and had those printed, although they're $20 apiece and not very good in terms of quality. I'd say don't go for it, although I have met somebody that likes to have them so he can have them sitting on his desk when he records videos to look like he owns them... Can't understand the logic in that, but oh well.

There has been no official Jerry's Nugget reprint. The closest thing is from people ordering up custom cards from the USPCC. The cards are on Bicycle stock with standard Bicycle faces. The only things resembling JNs are the backs and the cases. In fact, if you look around hard enough, you may find Black JNs, created by someone in Photoshop and ordered through the USPCC custom service. All of these decks are worth next to nothing. You may be able to justify paying 5 or 6 dollars for one just for the looks, but as a collectors item, they are worth nothing.

Hope that helps.

Just to clarify - you are correct that those were probably made illegally, but they were NOT made by USPCC's custom division but likely by their "Bicycle Personalized" division, which uses digital presses that do not feel anywhere near the same as cards printed on the web casino press or the sheet fed press. Bicycle Personalized cards use a digital process and are not printed at the USPCC factory. They are, however, a great option for those wanting to print small quantities of decks for personal use.

The Bicycle Personalized workflow is largely automated, so these may have slipped through the cracks. They do utilize Bicycle paper, but because the cards are printed after they are finished, instead of before they are finished (with the traditional presses), they are far from the quality you are used to.

It's likely that these were submitted by someone to Bicycle Personalized (and that person certified that they had permission to print these, when in fact they did not) - or they were printed overseas and are knock-off's from top to bottom. Summary: avoid!

darnit Bayme you beat me to it. I was gonna point out that Nuggets cant even be reprinted anymore since the method in which they were originally is no longer in use.

Yeah its the chemical stock or something like that right?

I believe it is the finish but yeah, basically the same thing. I recall hearing a story that said that in 1999, there were over 40,000 decks of Jerry's left and then suddenly, they all disappeared and were bought by one person.

Anybody have more info on this?

Hi guys,

I'm Thomas from France, that's my first post on this forum. It's a very old post but just to reply, yes, there is someone who bought all the stock of Jerry's nuggets. It's Dominique Duvivier, a french magicien. He tells on his website that the stock concerned contained 100 pack of 144 decks... I let you calculate how many decks...

Just to have more information, anyone was able to reprint some decks like the JN's design with USPCC custom services ?
