Master Grip & Deal

I've been practicing Marlo's Master Grip & Deal to learn my seconds, bottoms, and centers. However, the master grip is causing a lot of pain in my fore finger. Is this normal? Does the grip have to be really tense too? Also, any tips would be well appreciated.

Thanks!

The feel with any bottom deal should be "light". That said, your hands will hurt in this deal. One of the best examples I have seen of the push out method taught in ECT is in this video.

I understand that my hand will hurt after dealing for a while but I get instant pain in my finger as soon as I get into the grip - not even beginning to deal yet.
