Hey local ring is having Paul Gertner tonight for a lecture.
I know he has won many awards, been on Johnny Carson, etc.

What is he mainly known for? Cards, coins, a little bit of everything?

Are there any good tricks that I should request to see if he has time at the end?

I am really excited and heard he is awesome.

Paul's lecture was the best I've attended.

He showed us many effects and explained many principles that Ortiz has in his book Strong Magic.

His topic of discussion was, "Instructions not included"

Every prop must have a reason for existing.
You Do NOT have to use the patter and storyline that came with your effect.
Creating emotion in your spectators
and a whole lot more.

His effects that he did that stood out last night were the following:
Bite Me
Heart Breaker
Bill to Lemon with a signed card involved with the plot
Cups and Balls with the steel ball bearings of many sizes with a huge load at the end.

Paul was very friendly and asked every question that was asked last night.
He went from 7:30-10:00 with a half hour intermission to buy some of his tricks / notes that he brought.

All in all it was a great night for magic. If you haven't met Paul and get a chance to drive and see him....go for it. It is well worth it.

Can you explain Heart Breaker to me more reverhart.

Are the order of events the same as his demo?

I thought about getting it at one point, but I wonder if it really looks this "clean".

PM me if you need to be careful about exposure, but I really just want to know - do the order of events look the same as it does in the demo....or is it clever editing.

Paul's a class act. I saw his lecture a week ago in Pittsburgh. He's also unusual in that he understands magic as both an art and a business and is adept in both.
