Our Magic Resume

Hey guys. I've been thinking (which is not always a good idea), after reading many threads lately on here, that we should all put down our information and magic resume, so that posts and advice we give would be more credible (or not credible). We would know more about each other, and whose advice to take when we ask for something. A simple example would be that a guy who just started doing magic a year ago, and is only doing card magic, is trying to give advice on mentalism. While I have nothing against that, as every idea is an idea, I would still like to know who is offering advice, and who to listen to primarily.
I think that also age would be very important factor to know, for when a 13 year old is trying to give advice for marketing and booking gigs. So I think we should put down our age, magic experience, magic preference and accomplishments.
So let me begin:

Age: 27
Years in Magic: 8
Magic preference: Close Up Magic and Mentalism, Hypnosis (stage and close up)
Magic experience: I've been performing on Cruise Ships for the past year and a half, doing restaurant, close up and parlour magic, and a bit of kids shows. I have been doing stage Hypnosis shows for 1000+ people, I've been doing parlour hypnosis shows for smaller crowds, I've been working in night clubs, bars and restaurants on land.
A bit about myself: I'm mainly close up magician, who is slowly transitioning into mentalism (which I've been doing for more than a year). I'm not a kids magician, even though I'm forced to have a kids show on a cruise ship. I started doing mainly card magic, but branched out to coins, rubber bands, sponge stuff, ropes, rings, strings, pretty much everything. I love mentalism and I'm planning to be a full time mentalist one day.

So there you go, I think that's enough for everyone to know if they will take my advice on something or not.
I can't wait to learn about all of you ;)

Really neat idea...I think adding influences/favorite books might be helpful as well.

Age:27
Years in Magic: 2.5
Magic Preference: Card Magic
Magic Experience: Friends, Family, Talent Shows
A bit about myself: While I have been interested in Magic for a long, long time, I recently started a serious study. I am a teacher and coach, and these offer a lot of my performing opportunities. I am particularly interested in magic theory, and major influences on my approach are the Fitzkee trilogy, Tommy Wonder's Books of Wonder, Darwin Ortiz (Designing Miracles and Strong Magic), and Ascanio's Structural Conception of Magic.

Where do you see these Magic CV's living? attached to posts?

Age: 17
Years in Magic: 1.5
Magic Preference: Card Magic, Coin Magic, and Cardistry
Magic Experience: Being a high school student everyday i get to walk up to a crowd of students and wow them then walk away. I do the same thing when i go to the malls with my friends. I have gotten 2 paid gigs before doing parties.
A Bit About Myself: My age and experience might show me as a rookie but i picked up on it really fast and magic is really a big part of my life and a great ice breaker. I strive to get better and better. I do not do many gaff tricks or math tricks however i do know a lot but slight of hand is what i really love. My mentor that i met when i lived in japan up till a few months ago did the werm and i was certain i must learn cardistry. I have a great creative mind to magic and have created many of my own card and coin tricks and also some of my own cardistry.

Magic Preference: Close up magic, with an emphasis on cards. I do a kids show but I'm slowly growing a stand up act that is suitable for families on stage.
Magic Experience: I've performed stand up and walk around. I currently do family shows and have a DVD coming out on card magic with P3 (Papercrane/Penguin). I've performed at birthday parties, boy scout functions and talent shows. I've consulted and created sets and special effects for a handful of school and local theaters.
A Bit About Myself: I did my first birthday party at the age of 8 and performed consistently until high school. In high school I performed less and got into theater. I designed sets and special effects for 6 or 7 high school and local theater productions putting my magic knowledge to use. I went on a Mormon mission and found that magic was a great way to break the ice especially when it comes to talking about religion. Since I got home from my mission I've continued to perform magic and am very active in the local clubs in my area.

Magic Preferences : Close up Street Magic and Mentalism/Mental Magic (both street/close up and stage act)
Magic Experience : Been performing since I'm a junior high schooler. I have an alter ego and a unique persona when it comes to performing magic. I've performed lots of walk around, usually on a festival or fun fair. Got a consistent gig every Saturday night at a local Cafe, performing mentalism and sleight of hands. I also prefer doing magic that visually looks like the magic has been done by the spectator, not the magician.

(edit)
A bit about myself : My first trick was started with cards and eventually got moving to more tricks. During my Senior year in High School I developed the alter ego of BeLYEve, an "overpowering" ego that being the magician. My first contact with mentalism came along with my first stage act in front of tons of audiences in a huge ballroom. Also I got several reputation, trophies and certificate from local cafes, ballrooms, and stages around my area.

I think that is pretty much it.

Age: 29
Years in Magic: 19 years total, 6 years professionally
Magic preference: Close-Up Magic and Mentalism. Just starting to learn some hypnosis.
Magic experience: I only perform close-up magic for small events or just to have fun. My stage act is purely mentalism. I've performed for various events from adult birthday parties to corporate Christmas parties and also at some casinos. I've been performing professionally for about 6 years.
A bit about myself: My first 13 years of magic experience was very on and off. I viewed it as a hobby that I focused on from time to time. After I started performing for strangers, I started to get offers to perform shows and I couldn't let the opportunity pass.

Preference: Mentalism (mainly telepathy with a little clairvoyance)
Experience: I have performed professionally for 6 years mostly doing busking, parlor and close-up performances before I made the switch to being a full-time mentalist.
About Me: In addition to magic and mentalism, I'm also a writer, filmmaker and musician. I have a long background in the arts, and have also been forced to learn business and marketing on the fly to go pro with this. Consequently, my expertise lies less in the mechanics of magic and more in the artistry, performance theory, and business side of everything. I can help you write a new routine and market it, but I can't tell you how to invent a new false shuffle (nor would I want to).

Magic preference: Close up magic with cards with a "mental magic" emphasis, and mentalism
Magic experience: I'm a hobbyist who takes studying the art seriously. I perform for friends and at the occasional party. Every Halloween I film "The Legerdween Project" on Hillcrest, one of the most popular Halloween streets in Louisville, KY.
A bit about myself: I'm a student about to graduate with an MFA in creative writing at the end of the month. I write fiction (short stories, novels) and am preparing to be thrust into the cruel, real world at the end of the month. That is, of course, if I decide not to get a PHD and/or stay in school forever.

Magic preference: close up corporate audience
Magic experience: I've worked mostly with oilfield companies, some weddings (love those!), and worked in a restaurant for 3 years. Last year a friend and I created a two man show which was a ton of fun.
A bit about myself: I am a part time professional magician, and I work with teenagers during my day job. I have a wife and two kids. I my youngest son is on life support since he was born over a year ago. He consumes a lot of time these days but I lurk regularly and try to participate in the snc's regularly. :)

Magic preference: Close up/a bit of Table close up. Just getting into hypnosis.

Magic experience: Mainly parties, a little bit of street style stuff while busking.

A bit about myself: Started out many years ago in juggling and various other circus style performance arts, namely contact juggling and unicycle, a friend showed me a flourish two years ago and here I am. Never done too much magic performance as I do it mostly for practise, but I've had some truly excellent performances at parties and things. I used to busk contact juggling quite a lot and a very small amount did a tiny bit of magic. Never done a paid gig though.

Years in Magic: 19

Magic preference: Close-up and cabaret

Magic experience: I have been performing magic, both close up and small stage, since 1994 when I met Tom Claytor at the night club my parents ran. I was elected president of IBM Ring 189 at age 17 and again the next year. While president I worked to bring back the installation dinner and was named magician of the year twice.

After moving to WV in early 2000, I became the resident magician for Bristol Broadcasting. I did close up and walk around at station events, listener parties and for the musicians ,and NASCAR drivers who came to town for station events and concerts at the civic center. I have performed for the Andy Griggs, Rockie Lynne, Alan Jackson, Tim McGraw, the Warren Brothers, Faith Hill, Lee Ann Womack, NASCAR drivers Sam Hornish Jr., Sterling Marlin, Ron Hornaday and Kenny Wallace.

A bit about myself: Outside of magic I'm a graphic artist, play a little guitar and fancy myself a chef. I have started using a stage name because of lesson I learned from a guy in radio. It's hard to have a personal life if people know "who" you are. When I lived in WV people would hear my name and remember me from a station event and want me to perform. It got to the point I was having to bring more and more with me when I left the house.

Years in magic: A little more than a year.

Magic Preference: Close-up Card, started learning coin, and I have been studying mentalism for around 6 months.

Experience: I did a church show as a fund raiser for the youth to go to camp, school talent show, random people on the streets and one party.

About Myself: Although I am young I have a fascination in business and psychology, I am doing a business academy through my school in which next year I would be able to earn an internship with a company. My favorite close-up magicians are; Darwin Ortiz, Vernon, Slydini and Juan Tamariz. My favorite books are mnemonica, and lessons in card mastery by Darwin. A life goal is to land a copy of CardShark ;) as I started studying Lessons in card mastery a while ago and have learned around half of the routines.
