First Update- HERE
So, this is another update about this party. It is not really much of an update, it's more like my list of effects in the order I will perform them. The order of them and the tricks themselves may change or be removed entirely depending on how well they flow. This will be my guideline for the shows. Now, I'll give you some info about the kids and adults, and my type of performance, before everyone here has a coniption.
KIDS -The kids ages will range from about 6 or 7 years old all the way to about 12 years old. There will be about 20 - 30 kids in the room watching the show. I will be calling kids up to help for the majority, probably like 75% of the show. This will allow the kids to have in hands expirence and keep them on their toes and keep them from growing bored. the show will last 45 minutes. (including patter).
ADULTS- The adults age will vary greatly. They are all wealthy buisness owners on a weekend "retreat from their busy lives of running theirs stores and chains. What they are looking for is a semi-formal party type deal with drinks, entertainment, and music to just kick back and enjoy their time. The entertainment is my job. I am to keep them laughing and asking for mre and help lighten the mood.
so I'll rganize my tricks in order by adults and kids. Like I said tricks may be added removed or have their order changed based upon my, and you guys', discretion and advise. So, let's start.
KIDS-
Start off with an introduction of myself and some rules. And take some questions.
Go on to ask what a magician needs. (Top hat and Wand)
when they answer:
Collapsable Top Hat:I pull out an old flattened top hat and shake it. Nothing. Using magic words I cause it to spring open into a full top hat.
Appearing Wand: I seem like a lost my wand and start to look around. Then I recall that I left it floating around in the air. After reaching and grabbing unsuccesfully about two times I suddenly act as if I have something and continue to pull a two foot wand out of mt fist.
I Then go on to describe how a magician will often pull animals from his hat but the place we are in doesn't allow animals so I'll do something else. I then go:
Appearing 3 Foot Silk: I show that empty only to reach inside and clearly pull out a large 3 foot peice of silk.
Appearing Bird: I again explain that because I can't bring real animals I brought my friend Bill. I then fold up the large piece of silk and wave the wand. A plastic bird the size of a dove appears from no where.
I then call a kid up as I produce a card box and use David Stone's gag where it is actually some string in the box.
Classic Cut N' Restored Rope: I cut the string in half and tie it together again. The child then places their hand around the knot and says their favorite magic word and proceeds to tug downwards on the knot. To their surprise the knot comes off and the rope is fine.
Sponge Balls: (Not sure where this will go in the order but I'm usin them.)
