Ok, I first have several questions.

1. What does "Q1 quality" mean? I'v heard of Q1, Q2, and Q3. Whats the difference and how can you tell if your decks are Q1?

"The individual at USPCC I spoke to had no idea what Q1, Q2 even meant - they are not printed that way and there are not multiple levels of quality currently in production. We could call our decks Q77, but that doesn't mean they're different. They're not. The speculation that USPCC currently manufactures various quality levels of Tally's is 100% incorrect, and I would urge everyone to seek out the actual facts from trusted authorities rather than to rely on rumors and speculation.

Regarding Sean.Fast and Trashmanf's posts - I found your words highly disrespectful towards our team, many of which have been handling cards for longer than any of us have been alive. Jason England is actually a very close friend of Richard Turner, who is the USPCC's expert consultant on feel / finish of playing cards. A quick survey of our team lead to a total of ZERO that have heard of Q1 / Q2 - not Dan and Dave, not Andrei, not CK, not Jason, no one."

Soo, Im wondering if this Q1 quality thing is BS now...

nIvan is correct on the latter question. To address your first question, the difference is only in print specifications. When printed in Q1 quality, more technicians are required on press to ensure quality of alignment, print, and overall consistency. Does that mean that a Q2 deck will always be worse quality than a Q1 deck? No - not at all. It simply means that Q1 prints are held to a higher standard.

The biggest differential factor in durability, feel, and finish right now is which press it is printed on. I discussed this in a bit more detail in the podcast last night, but there are two presses at USPCC: the sheet fed press (used for lower volume runs), and the web press (used for casino's and higher volume runs). For whatever reason, at this time, the quality differences are significant. To my knowledge, theory11 is the only major company in magic at this time that prints exclusively on the web press. We place quality in high regard, and therefore have refused to compromise.
