Question about the Bicycle Black Tigers

Hey guys so I know this isn’t a TXI deck but I didn’t know where else to post this. I’m new to the world of cardistry but I’m already pretty picky when it comes to noticing which cards feel great and those that don’t.
Well I’ve heard a lot of talk about the black tigers being an amazing deck, especially by magicians like Chris Ramsay. But I got a deck at Walgreens (normally other decks I’ve gotten from there have been fine) and they look amazing but they don’t feel too good. Does anyone know why this is? Do they start to make cards differently after a few years? Did I just get a completely nerfed deck? And has anyone else experienced this with any kinds of cards?

I honestly think it's just because they're bought in person. I've seen tons of people say that decks bought at stores like Walgreens or Target feel different than decks bought online - but I know E's decks are all the same and I'm betting T11's are too.

I bought T11s from the store and they felt amazing. But I’ve also felt some bicycle decks that were REALLY good from the store too so I don’t know. I bought some Archangels and they feel heavenly (no pun intended). So that’s why I was surprised that my black tigers felt so gross.

UV500 isn't used at all any more. That's the stock, not the finish. The problem is, E was the only company using it, so when USPCC ran out E would have had to front the price of the entire roll of stock, which wasn't really an option. So they switched to casino stock.

Do any decks beside the Black Tiger have the Air Flow finish?
"Air Flow finish" is just a marketing label. All these decks are produced by USPCC in basically the same way, and have an embossing and finish that is practically identical.

Even a standard Bicycle riderback with its "air cushion finish" will handle the same way.

Heya EndersGame! I recognized your avatar from when I used to be very active on BGG.com! I see that you have equally high quality reviews on custom playing decks as you have for board games!

My understanding is that while they used to be different, nowadays the "linoid finish" on Tally-Hos, "Air Cushion" on Rider backs and almost anything else produced by USPCC all have the same finish.

Thanks Zeede. Yup, you nailed it. :)
