Texa$, with a dollar sign
This is a huge loss for the magic world. The man is a legend. I mean, for chrissakes the man only had ONE HAND.

There are only two magicians that I turn to when I got in a magic rut: Tommy Cooper and Rene Lavand.

The way he told stories in his routines; they had soul to them. There is no way you could do any of his routines verbatim without insulting it and what he brings to the table.

If you do not know who Rene Lavand is, check out his 'Three Crumbs' routine and remember that he only has one hand (he lost his other hand in a card accident). It's a moving piece

But it's sad. The man knows how to driver a heartfelt story in his routines. Rest in peace; mentor I never met.

Indeed. He was one of the great ones. A real magician, with style and character.
He could do things with one hand that most two-handers could only dream of.
But that`s not his greatest achievement in my opinion.
What he does was art, not showing of tricks.
He was the DaVinci of Magic and I understand why Norm Nielson and others praised him like "The best magician in the world".
