  1. Hope everyone is having a great weekend! Tonight's contest is inspired by the upcoming film "Now You See Me" - starring Jesse Eisenberg, Morgan Freeman, Woody Harrelson, and Isla Fisher. The movie comes out next month - you can watch the trailer here.

Now you see it, now you don't. The challenge this week is to make something VANISH. It can be a coin, a deck, a person, a chair, a Sharpie, anything you like. The only rule is that you cannot use camera cuts/edits to accomplish the vanish. Fair and square. Your effect does not have to be original. It just has to look smooth, natural, and deceptive.

You have 24 hours to make it happen. Upload your performance to YouTube or Vimeo, and post the link to your video in response to THIS forum thread by tomorrow, Sunday, April 14th, at 7:30pm EST. After time is up, our panel of judges will go through each submission and declare a winner based on which performance we believe the best and most deceptive.

What's up for grabs? 1,000 Elite Member Points, a 12 Pack of Artisan Playing Cards, and a download of Alchemy by Ben Seidman and Mirage by Alex Geiser.

  2. After we make it vanish, can we make it reappear?

  3. You can, but certainly not required for this contest. This one's all about the vanishing act.

There are no camera tricks in the video. For some reason, however, Youtube wanted to keep uploading this video playing it at a faster speed. Regardless... Hope you enjoy!
