That's right.

I was watching Kim Slki's video, where a friend aparently flicks a card from one hand (a lá D&D) and has it stab itslef into the deck, which he is holding on the other hand.

The deck is spread, and the selected card is the one under (or on top) of the flicked card.

Here is the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QKfXLyW3Nfo&feature=player_profilepage

So does anyone know where this came from? Or has anyone any sources?

I appreciate the hefty help;

G

EDIT: Just found another video, slightly different though: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1tGJ88lYMwg

Hum. They both claim to be of a Mutobe shot.

Aad that's probably from Yoshihiro Mutobe.

But that's as far as I've gotten...

David Williamson published a version of this effect called "Stabbed From The Back" in his book - Williamson's Wonders.

He credits the idea of tossing a card into the deck to locate a selection to Harry Lorayne. Harry's effect was called "Stabbed In The Pack" and was published in The New Jinx in 1966 - and a year later in Deck-Sterity. Johnny Benzais also published his version in The New Jinx, after hearing about Lorayne's.

With that said, I definitely dig the version you posted above, which David Williamson's looks fairly similar to - only approached a bit differently (though Benzais's is probably closer in method to the aforementioned variation). Either way, amazing effect.

Hope this helps!
