Stapled Card Trick

Hey guys,

Over the past couple of months I have been working on an effect and I finally worked out the best method. I was wondering if it was original.

The effect is where a card is selected, signed, and stapled and with your thumb, you visually rub off the staple. If this is original can anyone tell me how it sounds?

Not being a magic historian, I can't really say if there's already been an effect like that.

However, the first thing that popped into my mind was "and then what?" As in, that's not the whole trick, is it? It sounds like a neat little phase to a routine, but definitely not the focus of an effect. Hopefully you can expand it into something awesome.
