Starting a card collection

I have decided that for a new decor in my room I would like to have some sort of a card collection. My idea is to buy frames with black mats that I cut to fit about 30 different cards. So what I would do iss take a joker from each pack that I have in my collection and but it's back showing from the frame, then you could see each deck I have in a nice and convenient manner. Sound like a good Idea? So What I need to know is what kind of cards should I get for my collection. Now I am not a huge fan of have 100's of different coloured bicycle cards, because basicly they are the same thing. So I was planning on having some cards from theory 11, hopefully I can get my hands on some smoke and mirror...an maybe even a Jerry or two if I can get them at a decent price. Lastly, I since I am new to cardistry and such I really have not tried many typed of cards besides bicycles, so if anyone have favorite cards then I would love to hear what they are. Also I am going to try and get two of every deck in my collection so I can open open one and use, then have a sealed one for the collection.

Cards I plan on getting for collection
- all colors of wynn's
- Aladdin 1001's smooth finish & Air cushion
- Original Stud Cards
- Smoke & Mirrors
- Massa
- Propoganda
- Centurions (black , White if I can get a hold of some)
- Jerry Nugget's ( again, if the price is right )
- Rider back bicycle
- Fan and Circle back Tally's

As I said, if anyone has other cards that they think are good quality cards and would be good for a collection please say.

Tell me about it. One deck of Bikes cost $10 here.

Nothing beats Norwegian pricing. I've seen 10$+ decks.

If you're really set on card collecting, I won't stop your buzz. I'll just say, peacefully, that if you think about it - there are alot of better ways to spent your money.

Donate?

Australian pricing beats Norwegian pricing, as praetoritevong knows. Theres some places here that sell Bridge sized bikes for $15. And people actually buy them.

7.05 Dollars for a Big Mac.

And imported, hard to find cards? Pheewee!

But not to drag this thread off course, I suggest you don't collect cards mate. Later in life, I'm quite sure you'll think to yourself: "Why the hell did I do that?" or "I could have spent that money on other [magic] things!".

Alas, you call.

It's not about the money or selling them later in life. It's just a great collection to have. I love collecting cards. I find it very cheap compared to most collection's or hobbies. It is just the satisfaction of have all these cards to know the quality of them, the looks and the feel.

Other hobbies and collector's items that are a lot more expensive and common in my area are comic books, trading card games, baseball cards, movies. Some other collector things that are a lot more expensive yet people do it just to look at them: swords, coins, games....the list goes on and on.

This is a good point. It's one of the cheapest hobbies that impresses almost anyone just because of... idk but it's cool and a lot of people don't know there is such a big community for cardist. I inherited a coin collection from Grandpa and looked coins up, some are just crazy amounts of money for a single coin.

A deck for $10+ or 20+ is really nothing to spend on a hobby compared to the majority, just my opinion.
