Hey guys.

I have a ton of ideas to share, problem is, I don't have a video camera.

What would you guys recommend, on a budget? If it doubles as a still camera that's even better, but not required. I just want something that does the job. Also, my computer runs on Windows ME. I know, antiquated, but it suffices. I use shared computers otherwise.

Also, I'm curious to know if any downloadable videos or PDFs will run on my old comp...I have old versions of Quicktime, Realplayer, and Windows Media Player, and Adobe Reader 4.0.

Thanks in advance,

Ian

What's your budget? my kodak easyshare is a great little camera, 7.1mp ,3x optical zoom ,vid quality is 480p (not the greatest but it still pretty good), and it was 129.99 at best buy but i got it for my B-Day last year. i'll do some searching to see what fits your budget like $100-$150? that cheap for what you want. I think the easyshare would be your best bet though It's good and cheap.

well my comp is i think about 8 years old with windows XP home but I keep it updated so its not that but its still slow. and well before it crashed the software for the cam ran pretty well it wasnt very slow at all. and lucky me i lost the disk for it so now i have to use Image zone (a pain in the f!@#in a$$). I dont think it took up that much room either but i cant remember. and you might want to upgrade adobe reader and quick time. just search for "adobe reader" on google and look on "Apple's" site for quick time.
Also try this camera it say it has a movie mode and 12mp.

If you'd like to know if certain cameras work with your computer, I would advise looking up the minimum required specs listed on the camera's box (or the website that sells the item, if you're e-shopping). :)

I cant imagine you having any issues running your PC with ANY camera, as long as you have a free USB Port. Its the intensive editing software where you 'may' run into an issue, though just check the box for the minimum requirements!

You could get a pretty awesome webcam for under $200 (http://www.logitech.com/index.cfm/webcam_communications/webcams/devices/3056&cl=au,en) though it depends if you want to use the still camera away from home/your desk!

You shouldnt have any real issues watching videos, though I would recommend using VLC Media Player available here: http://www.videolan.org/vlc/

In regards to PDF's, you wont have amy issues at all.

Cheers,
Matt
