Yes, this has been done before. Essentially the trick requires two sleights; but, obviously, you can do as many controls as you want. The trick is nice: sort of like a one-card monte. Advice and criticism wise I'd say you should put some work into your DL and try not to do the old thumb method that we're all guilty of. You said this was recorded three months ago so I won't nitpick at any flashes or mishaps, but try to change how you do your DL. I'd recommend using the good ol' pinky to acquire the break either by pushing off or pulling down.

Yeah, when I watched this video right before I posted it I cringed at my double lift. Thanks for the advice. Also, this trick is much more powerful in person because it seems as if the cards have change right in the person's hands.
 
Absolutely! There is nothing wrong with simple methods and nothing wrong with the effect. It's a pseudo-transposition seeing as you don't claim to hold the jack and make them switch, but that's perfectly okay.
