All right, sportsfans. It's that time of year where Tenyo starts unveiling what is in store for the line for next year's Tenyo Magic line.

Normally, we get four T-numbered tricks for the year; for the last couple of years, they have released 4 regular T-numbered tricks and relased a seperate (but still T-numbered) "Mental Magic" line of four tricks along with it.

This year, so far, it looks like we aren't getting a seperate side-line to work with, instead we are getting SIX tricks: They have done five tricks in a year in the past, but the last time they had this many was 2004 (in which they had seven for that year).

So here's what we are getting. And the names are rough estimates. Steve Cohen (of Woldorf Astoria Chamber Magic fame) should be, once again, doing the English translations and English names for this years line:

- Magical Chocolate (1800 Yen) - https://twitter.com/co23015/status/1005782060433199104

The magician presents a white chocolate candy bar and a dark chocolate candy bar. Magically, they make a piece of it go missing and make it appear on the dark chocolate bar. The magician takes that piece off and places it back on the white chocolate bar and magically repairs the bar. They then restore the dark chocolate bar.

- Dice Matrix (1200 Yen) - https://twitter.com/co23015/status/1005781228979490816
The magician presents a box with 4 sections, each with a single die. The magician places the lid on the box and makes a magical gesture. One of the dice has now jumped into another compartment. They cover the box again and another die jumps into the now crowded space. The magician then takes the lonesome die and places it in their pocket and covers the box. The die has now jumped into the crowded space.

- Cellphone Handkerchief (1500 Yen) - https://twitter.com/co23015/status/1005779994239328256
The magician is able to take a handkerchief and pull it through a borrowed phone. They can also pull a handkerchief through a deck of cards and what looks like a matchbox (I'm assuming you can pull the handkerchief through anything).

- Mixed Masterpiece (1200 Yen) - https://twitter.com/co23015/status/1005779355396550656
A block puzzle featuring Vincent Van Gogh is featured on six blocks. The magician is able to mix up the blocks and cover it up; after a magical gesture, the puzzle is restored.

- Ringcaliber (1500 Yen) - https://twitter.com/co23015/status/1005778881473724417
The magician presents a clear box with a ring and a hollow star inside. The magician closes the box with a bid and inserts a sword through the box and through the ring. A shake of the box and the ring and the hollow metal star have now switched places.

- Money Eraser (1800 Yen) - https://twitter.com/co23015/status/1005778517840105472
The magician presents a folded bill (in the video, it is a Yen bill) and covers it. As they slide the top cover across the bill, it erases the picture of the bill.

These are not the final versions of what will be sold. Colors and materials could change. For example, I think that because of the price on Dice Matrix, we could be looking at a cardboard box instead of maybe a plastic box. The shape of the rings could change for Ringcaliber. I don't know. All that is known is that these will be the tricks. Materials and aesthetics will be an unown until they mass distribute in the fall.

The Cellphone Handerchief is a trick that I see on Instagram a lot and will probably go under their "Worlds Greatest Magic" line/box art. At least, it's the only one of the six where I went "oh! I've seen a lot of that before!"

Magical Chocolate looks like an upgraded version of the redeption (mail away) packet trick they had for the 2018 line (
).

Dice Matrix is Tenyo's first go at a Matrix Assembly

Apparently the Van Gogh thing was something Shin Lim has done. I'm not sure.

Ringcaliber looks like a massive throwback to the Tenyo magic of the 80's and 90's. It looks like an upgraded Lancelot.

Not sure what to make of Money Eraser. I don't know if only Yen bills can be used or any bills. I haven't see one where you erase the picture. Usually it's the other way around where you have something blank and turn it INTO a bill.

This also marks the first Tenyo line since 2009 where, not only were no prediction tricks were used, but no card tricks either. The last few years have been A LOT of card/prediction variants. HUGE breath of fresh air in the 2019 line.

I'm most excited about: Magical Chocolate, Dice Matrix, Ringcaliber, and Money Eraser. I'm on the fence about the Masterpiece Puzzle and Magical Cellphone as I think they may have angle issues and I won't be able to use them in a setting I'd like to use it in.

Assuming the Pokemon TCG doesn't release anything thats going to drain my account, I'll be getting a bunch of Tenyo as soon as they come out and get started on Tenyo Tuesdays again.

There it is! The 2019 Tenyo Magic line. Any thoughts?!
