Thickest Cards

Hey guys, what do you reckon are the thickest cards on the market (including the box)? I've got a black ghost deck, and including the box it's 19mm (plus or minus one millimetre). I like thicker heavier cards for more stable handling, so do you guys know what others are out there?

Please just post up regular cards that are on the market, Ellusionist or T11 decks or casino cards. I know there are metal playing cards, but those are just insane...

...there are seriously metal cards?

I'm not sure, but I doubt it... Metal cards *scoffs*

Anyways, regarding thick cards, all E custom decks are pretty thick. The Guardians/Centurions/Propagandas are also thicker. Sentinels are slightly thinner, so I'm not sure if you'd be interested in those or not. Then there are Jerry's Nuggets. The ones from 40 years ago along with the ones currently used (blue bee design with JN inside a white square on each half) are also pretty good.

too bad the Fournier's are crap. Can't fan, spread like a plastic deck. If all your looking to do is packet cuts and riffle shuffle then go for it, and they are fine for most magic, as long as you dont have to fan, but as far as versatility, they SUCK

Don't hate man, there's a trick to make the Fournier fan. All you have to do is email Lee and ask him how to make them fan.

For 11 bucks, there damn well better be a way to make them fan. Let me guess, 2-3 fanning powder sessions as you break them in? If so, they don't last 10 months, those make cards clump up fast from the 2-3 times I've tried it.

come on? you dont see the issue in spending that much on a deck with almost no versatility and ugly color and design when you could pick up a couple decks of Tally's for under 2 bucks a piece? Im not hating just sharing my opinion. If you like Fournier's thats fine, go for it and use them, to each his own, but i was attempting to give the original poster a honest answer about the cards.

So does anyone have any figures? Or is 19mm pretty much the thickest?

If you're looking for thickness including the box, try sentinels. The actual cards are just a bit thinner then the other t11 custom decks (excluding the stingers, i think), but the box is 40% thicker, so it's possible. Personally, it shouldn't matter unless you're being very precise regarding measurements for storage or making a hollowed book to hold them, or perhaps to see if it'll fit in a porper clip?

To be honest, a 40% thicker box does not make much of a difference. Normal boxes are probably 1mm thick, so the Sentinel boxes will be 1.4mm thick, which isn't really that big of a difference.

That said, I you should really try the Bee Premium Casino decks, or the Bee RJRTC Watermelons.. Those are really THICK, BAD-A*S decks!

i have a friend of a friend who works in casino, they use playing cards of brand "Arlekino", dunno where they are produced and by whom, but they are like twice as thick as normal bicycle deck... he get me decks from time to time, i really enjoy practicing with them... Not easy to bend, also hard to fan, but for packeting they are soooo good.

Next time i get my hand on those decks, i'll post pics :) They look pretty okay

Actually there is... They are not metal, they are stainless steel. They are meant to help with passes and things such as that.

Go for the Bicycle Masters series. (yes this includes the Shadow Masters that aceofclubs mentioned) They are sold on ellusionist.com. They are thicker, higher quality versions of your average bicycle rider back cards.
