I like the idea behind it but other than that I'm not a big fan of it. It seems kind of obvious, I dunno if it's just me, but that laymen would picture the card as just dropping as opposed to actually melting through.

Maybe if you motioned with one hand on the side of the deck and say something along the lines of "now watch as the card melts through the deck and...". You can then drop with one hand onto a table or something. I hope I am being clear enough.
