Dang...this weekend is already halloween! Before we know it, it'll be Thanksgiving and one of these mornings we are going to wake up and it will be Christmas!

I always have to start giving people idea's for Christmas and birthday pretty early (My 18th birthday is 10 days before Christmas!) so, I have been thinking of what I am going to be asking for!

I already got my early b-day gift from my parents - HTC EVO 4G!

I think my wish list is going to look like this:

TKO - Jeff Kaylor
Metal - Eric Jones
Trinity System
Legacy Thread
TRANSIT
and a sweet little close up pad I found.

Oh yeah! And I will be asking for a stereo system for my truck I just bought!

Yes you read that correctly. I am 17 years old and I traded in my own car and bought my own truck with my money that I am working and paying for! (That is kind of unheard of these days lol)

Anyhow, what are you asking for for Christmas?

Yes, when it comes to rubber band magic, I usually perform stairway, raw linkage, crazy mans handcuffs, and I know a little rubber band thru thumb thing. I think TRANSIT would be a sweet addition to my rubber band magic.

I can't watch that video right now but I'll check it out asap. I think TKO will be awesome!!!

And heck yeah, I am stoked about Trinity/Legacy!

This was my mind set when I was making my list:
I want TRANSIT because it would be a sweet addition to my band tricks
I want TKO because I think it is an awesome utility that I could find many uses for AND I think it will get my creative juices flowing
I want Trinity/Legacy because I'm sick of $10 for 5 loops lol

I didn't want to get effects (with the exception of TRANSIT) just because I already have plenty of tricks. I mainly want utilities to enhance my tricks ya know?

A nice little line up. I am beginning to fear that people we actually start tapping into the secret world of coin magic now though... It use to be the one thing I had on others, I guess now I am just going to have to do the best Cup and Balls routine that anyone has ever seen =P

Hey guys just a little advice with the Metal DVD, from what I've read on reviews this is different enough from "In the beginning there were coins" DVD from penguin that you should consider looking into buying both. The plots are different in both dvds at the very least giving you some performing room.

Other than that pick up Bobo's coin magic, it's a hard book to learn from if you don't know anything about coin magic, but once the terms and grips start becoming familliar it's a book worth looking at, and not nearly as confusing as it is now to the newer coin magicians

You only need a third of this stuff and most of it is stuff you aren't even ready for. Parents pay taxes during Christmas so unless if they are really rich, they can't afford hundreds or thousands on just you and magic at that one time. About a third or less of the stuff you want for Christmas will take you a lifetime to study and perfect. Actually, scratch that, Card College will take a LONG time to master, and I bet only one of those items you listed will actually be something you study.

You ask for way too much at so young of an age. Take your learning rate slow and be precise with whatever you buy. Just because you have a lot of stuff, doesn't make you a better magician than anyone else. One could only have the entire Card College Series and have an entire career built on it. I would say go with Card College, Dai Vernon, and Foundations if you want to learn gambling sleights. However, with learning gambling sleights from Jason's DVD it's nice to have a better knowledge of the moves before heading into it.

Take your time, study up, and learn properly by buying less stuff as possible. You will soon overload yourself and you will pass by some of the best effects you would have ever come across.

Ah, nah. That's where you're wrong, bro. He's already passed by some of the best effects he's ever owned. Now he's buying material for the sake of feeling like he's progressing, like he's learning sleights he will actually use/be able to pull off. Did I mention it doesn't sound like he practices? And why the HELL is he buying the EATCT DVD set? He does realize even Foundations... to get all those moves to the level where he can pull it off in a game (I don't see the point in half the sleights on Foundations) or the entire Tarbell AND Card College? You can make an entire career off of just one of those two book sets..

I used to have In The Beginning, and watched it a million times and got most of the sleights down, but was never really good with coin work. I have BOBO's and look through it all the time. I am getting Metal now and going to really work my coin magic and polish it up. Hopefully Eric Jones DVD will help me polish what I already know, and teach me more!

Yes you read that correctly. I am 17 years old and I traded in my own car and bought my own truck with my money that I am working and paying for! (That is kind of unheard of these days lol)

Anyhow, what are you asking for for Christmas?

I'll probably ask for...:

Bicycle Masters [red] (x12) $35
Bicycle Masters [blue] (x12) $35
Shadow Masters $7
TallyHo $7
Tiger [x3] $18

I <3 my cards, I like to collect em and use em! The masters are going to primarily be my performance decks. I just love the tally ho vipers and the black tigers with the red pips.

My parents are going to buy me that stuff^

I, on the other-hand am going to buy:

Theory 11 Cards And Gear:
125 Edition Cards (x4) $20
Propaganda (x3) $15
Guardians (x2) $10
Sentinels (x3) $18
Sentinel Bottle $100
TOTAL $163

David Blaine Split Spades Signed Decks $15
Split Spades Lion Series Deck with Autographed Card $10

Strong Magic - Darwin Ortiz--$50

GRAND TOTAL $434!!!

I don't get paid allowance so.. no bashing me for spending so much money on cards and stuff! Mehar Mehar Mehar! Why are you getting all those random decks?!?! Well, mainly because:

A) My money, parents aren't going to have to spend a penny
B) A lot of you guys on the forums said not to buy too many books and strangle myself on the pages, so I'm only getting one.
C) My teacher said he'll lend me any books I need them and if I like them, like strong magic, I can go ahead and buy them!
D) They look badass

And R.K., good to know you aren't a spoiled brat :D Oh and, E has a pretty nice close-up pad!

Mehar... Too many decks in such a short time. You're not going to need that many decks. More then likely they'll warp because moisture will get into them since they're sitting around and you're not using each and every one of them. Also, no offense, but we get the point - Your teacher was a former magician and he'll lend you books. You keep repeating that and it's getting ANNOYING.

My shopping list for Christmas is as follows:

Revelation and Poker Protection OR Casino Game Protection OR GPS (Gambling Protection Series)

And a brick of blue bees.

Now I am convinced that all you want is attention and recognition.

Humility is the lesson that would probably help you the most in your progress in magic.

For me, it's either just the camera, or these books:

1. Card Control by Arthur Buckley
2. The Card Magic of Paul LePaul
3. Stars of Magic
4. Card College Vol. 2
5. Steranko on Cards

The books above are just some of the main ones I've been wanting for my supposed "collection". Some shortening of it will follow as I cut it down even more.

The Complete Walton Vol. 1 & 2 are also ones I would like to have, but I'm not having any luck finding these. :(

tokyoUW..... UMMM ok? No clue what you are trying to say...? Is it a crime that I am proud to not be some spoiled brat and to actually own something nice that I am paying for and that I worked hard to earn? I was just typing up a thread to start up some conversation

Dude mehar you remember us talking about how I have been getting quite a few gigs here lately? Well I was talking to my stepdad earlier and found out that they are going to his friends halloween party.

His friend is loaded rich and he told me to show his friend some tricks and then tell him that if he pays me I will do magic for the party! Lol I laughed because I thought he was kidding but he was dead serious soooo it is a good possibility that saturday night I will be doing magic and getting paid!!!! Too bad I ran out of loops today :(
