Monarchs in Color - Concept

Last week I posted my fan art of Contraband in color. This week I decided to take a stab at the monarchs design. It was a bit intimidating to augment one of the most famous custom deck designs but I think I did the Monarchs justice. I left half the card the way it originally was to contrast (and to keep it similar to my colored contraband concept). What do you think? What other designs should I do?

The raw image was generated using a scanner, I edited the scan using Adobe Ideas (iPad). All lines were hand drawn. Total time: 3.5 hours.

I think that looks really good. The only thing I would change it that, rather than coloring the brown and red slightly past the middle of the deck, make it fade so that the transition is smoother

I would have done that if there was an easy way to fade the color. Using the coloring tool in Adobe Ideas is very much like Windows Paint, there isn't much flexibility. If I had Photoshop I'd reckon I could get the whole card colored within 30 mins.

Oh jeez that sounds annoying. Have you ever used deviant art? They have a free online tool called dA muro. Its pretty basic but would probably work better. I hadn't seen it yet! It looks nice, honestly I think the color on that one is so simple, it would look even better full. Really though, if those decks were made, I would get one haha

Thanks! I might try that tool out next time. I would be excited to see this design too, however it would probably be too much trouble for theory11 to make yet another monarch design.
