Hey everyone I am a noob here,

But I am wondering if anyone out there knows how to do the good old card out of the mouth trick. It is where the spectator picks a card, puts it in the deck anywhere and the magican coughs it up

Hi jshrz, and welcome to the forums.

I guess I'll be the first to tell you that this isn't the place for sharing secrets. What we can do is give you sources that you can go out and buy to learn tricks that you want to learn. But it is considered highly unethical to participate in or ask for exposure (the revealing of magical secrets without purchasing the product) in any way. So no-one will reveal any secrets, and so forth; what we can do is give you comments about a performance, or discuss a move, give you tips on a trick, or tell you where you can learn it, or what you can learn. I realise you're new to magic, so I guess now's as good as any to learn what's acceptable and what isn't. Exposure is essentially stealing.

Magic is something we love deeply, and with that comes a lot of respect; we respect magic as a whole, we respect the magicians who perform and also create magic, and to that end exposure is considered wrong and frowned upon by the respectable magical community. There are many other practical reasons why exposure is considered bad as well; it shortchanges you, and stops you from being the best magician you can be, it steals the work and the creative vision of other magicians, it deprives them of livelihood; the list goes on.

O' I am really sorry. Can anyone provide me a source then?

It's alright, no worries at all. To be perfectly honest I don't really have much of a clue where the best sources for the trick (it's called Card to Mouth though, by the way) are. There are several versions - sometimes the card ends up folded inside your mouth, sometimes it just hangs from your mouth. As I said, I don't know what the best sources are, but the few that I know are: David Stone's Real Secrets of Magic DVD - which is a fantastic DVD on the subject of strolling and restaurant magic, and Dan & Dave's The Trilogy DVD set (Disc 1, tricks section), which has a Card to Mouth also. The other thing I do know is that in Arthur Buckley's book Card Control, there is a fantastic palming technique which leaves the card in a perfect position to perform Card to Mouth.

If you leave this topic for 24 hours, I'm sure some other members will contribute some of their knowledge too (most of the guys from North America will probably be sleeping right about now).

Ok, i found this trick because Rick Smith JR came to our school, and since I did card tricks to all the teachers I had to go up there(By teacher force).

It was the card folded up BTW

I believe you can find the folded up card in mouth in ellusionist.com 's inide magic DVD I believe there is a version of it in there.
If you want the one that is hanging from your mouth you can find it here in the tricks section and go to the 3 disc dvd set caleed the trilogy, by Dan and Dave Buck.
