Magic Show at the Library

Hey guys here is some footage from a show I did at the Library a few weeks back, I hope you guys like it. Make sure you read the description! So just to clarify I know that I flashed a bit on the magic coloring book and that my TT vanish at the beginning wasn't the best. Also I had a complete brain fart moment and forgot to show the book non colored at the start. I was a bit taken aback by the size of the audience! I was only expecting like 40 people, not 105! The second show, which my brother forgot to tape =[, went a lot better! Sorry for the brief cut out halfway through the second video! I know I fumbled a bit during my rope routine, but the kids didn't really seem to notice.

Over all I think it went pretty well and I was able to pass out like 80 business cards

Zenn,
Glad to see you out there performing and jumping in. The first couple gigs you do, you will learn a lot from. Some DO's and DON'Ts and how you could improve upon yourself.

Write these things down immediately after the gig or when you get home from it so you do not forget.

One thing that I noticed is that you are performing on the same table that you have a lot of your props and case on. I did this in the beginning too. You may want to have a separate small table that sits up closer to the audience so the audience isn't looking at quite a few things up on the table at the same time. It is distracting to some people.

I won't comment on every single effect but when you have a helper come up....have them turn and face the crowd so that everyone can see what is going on and has a clear view of the show.

Do not rush through the coloring book as fast as you were. You were flipping through the pages ridiculously fast and not even opening the book the entire way. You can flip the pages slow and it still works.

You may want to get yourself a small portable mic and speaker so that everyone can hear you. I know you weren't expecting that large of a crowd but it may be something you want to get down the road.

It was nice to see you laughing and having a good time with the kids. Excellent. Have fun and learn as you head down this path.

Thanks for the advice... yeah this was only my second gig, I've had two others since then with another one this Wed. I agree with the coloring book... like I said I had a brainfart and I accidentally rushed it as a result. It also doesn't help that my book is a bit messed up and I need a new one lol.

Thanks for the advice about the table... I'm actually working on converting my case into a portable table. I'll also look into a mic/speaker combo.

I'm glad you liked it and thanks for the feedback!
