You have here some videos by Spidey, I think that kind of mentalism is really useful, and easy to learn. My favorite one is Transcript, and I recommend it. However, you have the book "The full facts book of cold reading" by Ian Rowland, which is very interesting.

Generally, playing cards are not used for mentalism, but for mental magic. Mentalism typically reflects a demonstration of psychic ability where mental magic is magic with a presentation based on psychic phenomena.

In my opinion, the best book for mental magic with playing cards are John Bannon's Mentalissimo. That book has effects for a variety of abilities. Another book that does mentalism using card sleight of hand is Max Maven's Prism.

If you're looking for video, I'd recommend Max Maven's Penguin Live Lecture (2014 ???). Also, in Luke Jermay's Penguin Live Lecture he demonstrates a good handful of mental card magic. The first routine in that video I fell in love with.
