"MacGyver" Tricks

I don't remember who it was, but a magician from E's YouTube Channel once reccomended tricks where you literally ask the spectator to put something in your hand, and have them tell you what the end effect should be. Do you guys think this is at all a good Idea? No one short of MacGyver could pull off 100% of the effects given to him.


P.S. Speaking of MacGyver, do you guys remember that one episode where he set up that ring to poke a hole in the card and make it looked marked in the casino? Could this tactic be used to mark a card on the spot?

That was Lloyd Barnes.

I think that's a great way to practice creativity.
But is it practical? I mean, If I was paying a guy to do magic I would expect him to bring his own stuff. That's not to say that those types of tricks are the only ones you would do, but still.
