that funny my friend was at my hoouse one time and i just started to throw cards at him he was like flipping out because som were going threw the posters on my wall
it was hilarious

I once scared the crap outta my friend cuz i threw a card (using Ricky Smith's grip) and it cut her finger. Now every time i'm mad at someone i threaten to throw a card and lodge it in there head. of course, they know i'm joking.

:D I got into magic because of card throwing. I don't practice any more though. Every now and then I still throw. My best throw was about 30+ yards

cutting someone with card throwing? Although I see the potential of doing that, the Mythbusters proved that it's almost impossible for a human to draw blood by throwing a card at someone. They even had Ricky and Chris to test the myth. Neither one of them cut anyone, let alone lodge a card into ballistics gel (equivalent to human skin). It took a machine that shot cards to get any damaging results.

Not my opinion, just what I've seen.

Back on topic, I practice card throwing a lot and I've gotten pretty good at it. Never cut anyone.. never tried lol

But Ricky Jay is a machine. ;) I'll hold onto my hope that cards can - in fact - be used as weapons. When the apocalyptic zombies strike, I'll be there with my pasteboards.

Notable title on card throwing : Cards As Weapons by Ricky Jay

Agreed, Ricky IS a machine. Cards as weapons, I can see it as a fending off or a threat but actually causing harm... unless you get them in their eye haha

In all seriousness don't throw cards at people. I was messing around with my friend and I did hit him near the eye on his face (not trying to hit him near there) and it did cut him. He had a cut for a few days. I am not lying. I just kind of threw it as hard as I could and it cut him. So don't throw card at people!

In 8th Grade, we had some free time, and I threw a card at my friend (who was across the room diagonally from me- probably about 25 feet away). I hit him in the forehead, and he had a red line on his forehead the rest of the day from the card. I guess you kind of had to be there, but it was hilarious at the time.
