Frans Harary... where's the love?

Okay so I think that prancing around on stage and waving your hands about is a little silly but such is the life of any illusionist. What gets me is how little you hear people people glowing, or even talking about, Frans Harary but how often you hear people swooning over David Copperfield. What gives? Frans seems to have pulled off many of the same illusions that David Copperfield has(not the exact same objects mind you but in the same scale) and whereas Copperfield did his feats at night(Stature of Liberty, a Jumbo jet, etc.) Harary did his in broad daylight! (Tower Bridge, a Battleship etc.)

So I am basically just curious why Harary gets ignored?

Harary is a wonderful creator of illusions. From my understanding Harary is known for his creativity. It is well known that he has created illusions for many popular bands and musicians. Haray has actually created some of the illusions that Copperfield has used such as the sawing in 9 illusion.

Copperfield is well known because he is a great performer and story teller. We love Copperfield because he is a great performer.

There is no comparison between the two. Franz is famous because he is a great creator of magic and Copperfield is a great performer. There is not a rivalry between the two it's more of a buisness relationship. I love them both!

Franz is an old, old chum of mine and truth of the matter is, he's HUGE in those regions of the planet he plays to most, like Malaysia and parts of South America. He doesn't seem to spend a great deal of time in the U.S. or Europe in that it cost so much more to put on shows here, especially on the stages that are large enough to support his massive props (his stuff is HUGE!)

While he is an effects developer (and Copperfield has used many of his effects, BTW) Franz now works closely with Gay Blackstone and the various shows she's producing around the country, hosting several of the Tv shows she has created as the result of the live shows.

Franz has grown into his persona and it's not been an easy journey, especially given how unusual he is when it comes to presentation, the kinds of bits he's willing to do and the venues he prefers working (an audience of less than 10,000 is "small" to him, he works stadiums). So he isn't your "typical" anything. . . that includes being the classically trained Opera singer that he actually is. . . for real! But then he did a Wagner Production while going to school in Seattle long ago when we were the pesky teens telling the old guys "you don't understand. . . "
