Making a Spring Animal?

I was wondering if any of you have tips on how to make a spring animal?

would a hand puppet be best to convert into a spring animal? a ft long plush animal?

Your best bet is to buy one. The run around $35 and there is a variety to choose from (raccoon, rabbit, skunk, fox). The puppet itself would cost $25 to $30, so the additional cost for getting one that is well made is minimal.

see, i don't want rocky or a fox or any of those though, they don't make one like i want.:(

I've never done it, but you would need a stuffed animal, a large spring with just the right 'springiness', and some sewing skills. You will need to reshape the puppet skin to fit the spring. Realistically though unless you know someone who is a fantastic sewer, it probably will look like a Frankenstein puppet.

I have my grandma.:p

not to mention, the creature isn't really that furry anyway.:) so that should help with the frankenstein problem, i think.
