Marked Bees?

Was going through some old cards today and pulled out a well worn box of Bee Premium Club Specials. I've had these for years...before I started getting interested in card magic, and to my surprise, they are marked! Not a diy job. Printed and super subtle. I can't find anything online about this type of marked Bee. Found pics of the same boxes online, but no mention of them being marked. These definitely didn't come from a specialty supplier (most likely walmart or a drug store). Anyone have any info? Pm me if you need pics.

Are they genuine Bee playing cards?

In the early 2000s there were Chinese counterfeits circulating which were marked. They were distinctive by a green "genuine bee" sticker on the box.

Page 2 on the above link discusses them in more detail under the 2003 Connell Bros cards section.

I think you nailed it, Bean_shooter. There's a metallic green sticker on the back. The cards are really thin stock, too. Even considering how broken in they are, they are super soft for Bees. Now I just need to find some unopened boxes of them online!

That article doesn't mention it, but they're also marked to identify suit...if you have really good eyesight, that is.
