Perfect Score Card Force ECT

Hey, I'm looking at a card force from Expert Card Technique called the Perfect Score Force. I understand most of what is being said except for the first step:

Undercutting three-fourths of the pack, injog the first card and shuffle off. Undercut at the injog, injog the first card (the chosen card) and shuffle off.

For clarity, the chosen card begins on top of the pack. I think what I'm finding confusing is that it is unclear what he is making be "shuffle off". I've heard the term before, but never fully grasped it. I also get the impression that an overhand shuffle is being used, but unless you are wanting a break, an injog will become a problem when you are performing the shuffle. And yet more, I also am confused what he means by the "first" card. This is not a term relative to space in the lack, such as "top" or "second position". Any help understanding would be great.

If you have the book, this is in the Technique chapter under "Forcing".

To "shuffle off" means to overhand shuffle without exactness the cards held in the right hand e.g "shuffle off" the remainder of the cards.. I would recommend reading The Royal Road to Card magic as it has similar forces that don't require you to understand technical terms. The "first" card is a term used in The Expert at the Card Table, and is used to denote the top card of the packet being held in the right hand. Hope this helps.:)

Yes, this helps. Thank you for clarifying. I've not had very many issues with technical terms; I tend to learn these and sleights rather quickly, but there are a few that have slipped under me.
