Places to buy magic items and or playing cards in Japan:

Tokyu Hands (department store) - Located in Shibuya (渋谷), Shinjuku (新宿), Ikebukuro (池袋). These stores have a game and hobbies floor/section with a corner of magic goods. Occasionally there are magicians doing close-up magic for sales (but haven't seen them recently).

Playing cards in Japan are standard, and you can even find some T11 decks for sale.

There is a brand of card that was released in Japan - they look nice, but handle horribly. Haha. It is hard to find them now.

There is one large magic store called Magic Land, in Tokyo, but I doubt your tour will be going anywhere near the area it is located.

You could always check out French Drop which is managed by Ponta the Smith. It is in Osaka, Japan. The directions are a bit confusing to get there, and I remember that I had to do a little bit of research to find it (not too much though). But, it was worth it.
