In this edition of our weekly 1-ON-1 SESSIONS, we'll be studying an area of magic that's instructional origins stem from a magician by the name of J.B. Bobo. In his book Modern Coin Magic (originally published in 1952), Bobo focused on sleights and effects involving a common item that we all carry with us on a daily basis - coins.

Today, we'll be exploring this area of magic - that is, material involving the specific use of coins - via a series of recommendations on coin magic, selected specifically by our team of staff and artists:

: : THREEFRY / / INTERMEDIATE / / $4.95
Magician and creator Chris Kenner (Executive Producer / David Copperfield) presents threeFry - a series of elemental coin magic techniques and an incredible routine that ties them all together. A simple, elemental three coin vanish and reproduction. The start of your training.

: : FLICKER / / INTERMEDIATE / / $5.95
A coin production from the mind of Doug McKenzie, one of the lead magic producers for David Blaine's latest special. This training video also includes instruction on the Jimmy Wilson grip and the various subtleties, angles, and details that make it look smooth.

: : TRIFECTA / / INTERMEDIATE / / $9.95

In his first release here at theory11, magician Homer Liwag teaches three of his favorite, original, highly visual coin vanishes - the Melt Vanish, the Himber Melt Vanish, and the Flipover Vanish. Learn them all now via 23 minutes of unparalleled instruction.

Once you have mastered the aforementioned material, you are well on your way to pursuing more advanced coin work. For those wishing to purchase all of the above, we've setup a special promotion. Order all three videos and receive a 20% discount for this week ONLY.

Be sure to check out last week's 1-ON-1 SESSIONS - Pocket Full of Miracles - and check back next Tuesday at 11:00am EST for another edition. See you then!

Just an historical point. Given that a lot of the material in Modern Coin Magic had already appeared in Modern Coin Manipulation (1900), The Art of Magic (1906) and Greater Magic (1938), not to mention the techniques described in Modern Magic (1876), isn't it a bit of a stretch to say that Bobo "introduced the magic community to sleights and effects involving...coins"?

An error in wording - my apologies. Edited the original post.
