Sometimes my hands are so smooth that I cant get a good grip on the cards, I wash my hands regularly as any good magician should and I have tried purell and that only helps for 30 seconds. Whatever I try it doesn't last long, does anyone have any helpful suggestions 'cause right now my hands are so f***ing smooth they are having trouble typing? :(

Are you using dish soap or anything that is grease fighting? I know I have this same problem when I use something like Dawn to wash my hands. Because your hands naturally secrete oils some soap will wash them away for hours making the cards more difficult to handle. Try a less quality soap or maybe just even simply rising your hands off with just water to get off the main dirt and grime.
Let us know how it goes!

On top of keeping hands clean, use 'sortkwik.' It's made for bank tellers and such so they can get a grip on money while they count it. But it can make cards sticky faster.

Your grip is either poor or you have been using soap meant for washing the toilet bowls and animals.Try the Mechanic's Grip with your three fingers curled onto the deck.

Where do you get that idea? Some people just have dry hands, and if they get dry enough there's no friction to move a card.

Uhh?

Thanks for everyone who answered and I think this was a bad one on my part. I know how to hold the cards correctly I have been doing magic for years. I just recently have had hard times doing simple moves like the stealth change because I feel that my hands don't have enough friction and I can't get the cards to do what I want at the moment, it is a real drag.
Sorry for not being clear enough :(

That's what I thought you were saying. Trying Sortkwik. You can find it at most office supply stores.

Every so often I feel like my thumbs or fingertips are a little smoother then I'd like them when it comes to dealing with cards, so I know where you're coming from. Personally, when this happens, I just rub my hands on my jeans a little bit and it seems to fix the problem..
