Flourish Criticisms?

Hello, I'm currently working on a few new ideas for my YouTube channel and possibly the Wire. I'd appreciate some advice on my current piece, Ciao. A bit choppy on the performance, but I was really pressed for time.

I have no issue with showing my face, but I'm not entirely sure how I would execute the shot. As for the music, I was planning on changing it for the Wire. I'm not a huge fan of cardistry done to recent music. It sounds a bit obnoxious, it distracts me from the content. Do you have any suggestions for the music selection?

As for selling this move, there isn't much to say. Ciao is short and sweet, what you see is what you get. I enjoy doing the move and I want to share the experience with the rest of the community. The cut itself came from my desire to create a two handed cut that utilized ideas from both Jerry Cestkoswki and Jeff McBride. I want to put emphasis in the video on the classic inspirations for this cut and further insist that everyone should go back to the foundational material.

I have no issue with showing my face, but I'm not entirely sure how I would execute the shot.

Just do a medium shot, they're not difficult. Catch at least the torso and head in the frame with a couple of inches of room above the top of the head. Keep the camera at about chest level for the best angle. If people can't see the flourish at that distance, the problem isn't with the camera.

Use what you want, not what I tell you to use. There's lots of great music out there if you know where to look.

Then use that pedigree to your advantage. You're marketing a two-handed cut, of which there are plenty already. You have to sell it on people as something similar to but not the same as everything else on the market and you have to explain why they need this.

I'll definitely attempt a few medium shots, I really have no experience with that angle. I'm not too worried about it though; it's a matter of performance and timing. Unfortunately, it can be difficult to produce a commercially successful cardistry video in the sense that people have grown very accustomed to a certain type of video. The standard is a bit backwards.

People seem to only allow themselves to be impressed if a video can compare to everything else they've seen. So it may prove to be a bit challenging to re-market basic material as something new when in actuality, the original material was just misunderstood.
