Starting A Magic Club at School

I'm currently a student at Virginia Tech who wants to start a magic club to get my campus more exposure into sleight of hand and magical arts. I have a couple friends interested in starting it with me. I wanted to ask what kind of tips or ideas do you have on starting a club like this? I don't want it to be a flop obviously. What's the best way to get people interested? And what are some ideas I could use to form the club? Have any of you started/been in a club in the past?

I'm part of the Magic Club at the University of Michigan. They basically recruited me by sending out emails of events they were putting on where they would go out and do street performances. We utilize the app GroupMe and during the regular school year, try to meet once a week. We also get patroned to open and do intermission for different performing arts that are shown in the Ann Arbor area which is another great way to get more people involved. Best of luck!

There is an IBM ring in Roanoke which doesn't look too far from you (I know nothing about the area so I could very easily be wrong about how far it is) but it might be worth while talking to them. Looks like there are a couple of S.A.M Assemblies not too far away as well

I'm the president of a local club in my area. We have a different theme each meeting (Money Magic, Impromptu magic, Rope magic ect.) Sometimes we will make a magic gimmick or perform for each other. We have a magic competition every year.
