Could some of you guys give me some tips with using LOOPS? Specifically lighting situations. I'm getting more into using Loops and I need some advice.

Any dimly lit situation is great. Most bars are perfect. Also take into consideration the color of the playing card backs (if you're doing haunted deck) and also the surface you're performing on. White = bad

If you have lighting coming from above, you can lean in over the cards (or whatever is animating) to cast a shadow over it all and this usually works great. You can get away with doing it in broad daylight if you can strategically perform the routine inside your shadow.

Tyler, I'm doing more Street Magic with Loops. Things like levitating borrowed bills, my sharpie, and cards in a routine. Maybe one day stage, but for now, just street. Nonetheless, the advice will be taken and remembered. Anything helps at this point.

Notsoltd, so if I'm on the street during the day, try to turn in a way where I perform under the cover of my shadow? Would the shadow of building work as well?

Yes, absolutely! Shadows are your friend when you're using loops, whether it's your own, the spectators, a building or a tree :)

Although I must say, there are times where I just opt not to do it just because it feels too risky. Play with your loops in all kinds of different situations (not necessarily while performing) and you'll get a feel for when it's good and when it isn't.

Yep, light directly from the front, the back, or above are the enemy. Side or indirect lighting, and shadows, are your friend.

Also, solid color clothing is bad. Something with a pattern or texture helps a lot.

^What they said. Loops are my all time favorite magic prop. When used in the right conditions, it kills every time! Also, if you're looking for some really strong effects using Loops, I'd recommend both of the online lectures Calen Morelli has done, as well as Ring Slide by Justin Miller. :)
