Lapping in Walk Around?

Hey guys!
So I created a trick a while back. It requires me to lap a card (while the deck is in full view of the spectator). Obviously, I can do a palm and reach the final end goal, but it changes the trick a lot and is not as clean looking. As I was perfecting the trick, and going over several lapping methods, I wondered "How would I perform this in walk around?".

So what would you guys do to lap something (coin, card, anything) in a walk around environment (with a table)? Do you guys think it is ok to drop the card on the ground and make up an excuse to pick it up later while the audience is misdirect, maybe even into a case if I have one? What about simply pull up a chair if there aren't to many people? And yes, I could palm off a card/coin and ditch it in my pocket, but you cannot do that for every effect (like an impromptu coin through table, where the borrowed coin is the one that will appear through the table, so you can't exactly ditch it. You could do a false transfer, but I'm talking primarily towards specific moves and ethics.

@Maaz Hasan, I think you already know the answer.... it depends on what you need to use your lap for in the effect. For example, if you need to ditch and then recover a coin, using a metal coin and a magnet in your back pocket. You can use pulls for ditches and belt clips for pick-ups. For the coin through table and other effects, just get used to being dirty. Really, the only answer is it depends on the context.

So for the card trick I described earlier, would it be a good idea to maybe have a case with my stuff in it, take my stuff out, place it open near my feet, do a couple of tricks, than for this trick I can lap the card into it? I doubt sound would be an issue in a venue with a lot of people, like a restaurant, or even with me just speaking.
