I’ve been practicing a lot of coin routines, mainly just one coin, and have been having some trouble with finger movement. Any advice on reducing it as much as possible during retentions and such?

Practice what the move would look like if you did it for real, and practice it without the coin. Once you get that to look natural, try replicating it with the coin.
Thanks a lot! I’ll definitely put a lot of hours into practicing before using it in a routine.

It's hard to know without specifics, but you can often anchor a rogue finger by pressing it against another finger or your other hand etc.
