Does anyone now if its possible to order the Contraband hidden-safe lamp with a plug for EU outlets and a bulb designed to handle our 220 volt current? Or is buying a voltage converter the only realistic option to enjoy the lamp in Europe?

The lamp is only available in a US-safe configuration. You will need a voltage convertor and plug adapter for EU outlets.

Follow up question: What socket is used for the bulb? (so that I can check whether I can buy replacement bulbs in Germany).

The base is a Medium (E26) base. Our old bulbs (purchased before this month) were 45 Watt, and our current bulbs are 30 Watt. Same look, the old model was just discontinued.
