There are pillows on the floor that make it look like it’s part of the reflection, but it’s actually just pillows that are sitting on the floor that match the bedding.
I used two amaran ace 25c’s lights for the cool lighting at different angles.
I attached two images to kind of show you what we did…definitely not AI as I know the rules of the contest.
No worries man, the way the black inside the mouth mixed with the cards looked odd, now my mind playing tricks on me that the chin in the other angle photo has extended lol. Great photo, really liked it

ok had nothing to do so uploaded the pic to chatgpt and asked if its created by AI, here is its reply
I can’t say with certainty who created it, but I can analyze its characteristics.

This image shows several strong AI-generation indicators:

  1. Unnatural composition: The playing cards appear to form a continuous, rigid stream that doesn’t quite follow realistic bending or lighting behavior.
  2. Facial anomalies: The woman’s facial structure and skin texture look stylized — slightly plastic or over-smooth, with lighting inconsistencies on the forehead and cheeks.
  3. Lighting mismatch: The shadows (especially behind the headboard) don’t align naturally with the lamp’s light source.
  4. Texture detail: The bedsheet pattern has uniform sharpness and texture across folds — AI image generators often maintain uniform detail instead of blur variation.
  5. Concept surrealism: The idea of cards streaming from someone’s mouth is something AI image models frequently generate in horror or surreal prompts, matching typical Midjourney-style outputs.

Overall likelihood: Very high — this image is most likely AI-generated, probably using a diffusion model (like Midjourney or Stable Diffusion) with a surreal-horror prompt.

Then I asked about the blackness in the mouth and this was its reply

Excellent observation — yes, that’s one of the strongest giveaways here.
Let’s break it down:
  • Mouth–card boundary: The transition from the dark interior of the mouth to the playing cards is not physically consistent. It looks like the darkness is bleeding into the cards, as though the image generator couldn’t decide where the oral cavity ends and where the cards begin.
  • Lighting mismatch: The inside of the mouth should have some internal shading or color reflection from the surrounding light (the lamp, the bluish hue), but it’s just an even black void — a common artifact of diffusion models that often “fill” deep spaces with solid black.
  • Card texture at the junction: Right where the cards meet the mouth, their edges slightly deform and lose the crispness of real cards. This blur or blending is typical of AI models trying to merge two incompatible elements.
  • Shadow behavior: No shadow or depth cue appears where the card stream exits the mouth — in real lighting, the first few cards would cast a faint shadow on the lips or chin.
Together, these confirm your intuition:
✅ That unnatural blending of blackness and the card strip is a strong AI artifact, supporting that the entire image was likely generated rather than photographed.

I further uploaded a couple of more photos that I myself have taken to see if Chatgpt misclassifies them, and even tried to convince it that it was created by AI but its findings were consistent and gpt correctly classified by them real photos. I just did that to see if chatgpt makes mistakes in this AI image detection task. So now I am more convinced by gpt's analysis abt the image been AI generated

Personal message from my wife “Reagan” the top image is the non-AI one. The bottom image is an AI created one, now seeing them next to each other… can you tell the difference? people are so quick to assume that good work automatically means it must’ve been AI generated the amount of proof that I have had to do in a simple contest is enough to make my head start to spin. lol

Well ultimately it's the judges who's going to decide, if they deem it to be legit than fair enough good luck, and I apologise for questioning it. Even I at first sight was amazed by it, it was after when someone mentioned abt the bedsheets pattern I looked into it and found the darkness inside the mouth suspicious. It wouldn't be fair for other entrants who've spent time on their entries to be judged and compared to an AI generated image so that's why I raised my suspicion. On the other hand if this indeed was an AI generated image then trying to convince others that it's not by providing more AI generated images is not cool. Cheers and good luck everyone

Just to give my two cents here, I didn't get any AI vibes. I was mostly surprised about the make-up which was dope! I couldn't get my wife to use 1 hour to transform herself into a demon 😀 While I don't consider the picture that creepy, I think the composition, idea and excecution made this a clear winner this time. Great work!

True I don't get any ai vibes too , but let's see who wins like theory 11 didn't specify if this contest will be judged or they will pick a random person. They usually specify ! So best of luck 🤞 hope they announce the winner soon 🤞 and bro @craigpalms37 this post was awesome, u have to take it as a complement that your post is so good one might think it's AI.

My wife did take it as a compliment as well as myself and it’s just kind of sucks that we’re at an age where everything is assumed to be AI.
I’m really glad you liked the photo. We put a lot of effort into doing the make up setting up the lights, getting the right angles, and also the concept with the cards coming out of the mouth…. as every contest I have entered here on Theory11 I have given a lot of thought and energy into every piece as I’m sure everybody else gives it their best shot..
