Separating the chosen card from the bottom of the deck

Hi there, I've been looking into some card magic to add to my ambitious card routine. There is one magician where he separates the bottom card (chosen card) from the rest of the deck. I tried looking at his technique in the video, but I can't seem to get it because he doesn't even explain it in the video!

Does anyone know the term of the technique or similar techniques?

I forgot to clarify his technique. He keeps the chosen card at the bottom of the deck by creating a break, but hee does not physically separate the card from the deck.

It's called a buckle. You can learn it in Card College Vol. 1 (pg. 212)
