I disagree. The exposure of methods to the general public should be left up to the creators and publishers that distributed the effect first. No one has a right to reveal another person's creation without the permission of the creator.

Not sure about that particular effect but I know the Epic Deck by Scott Alexander and achieve something similar.

Mine is an impromptu card transpo routine I invented called Camper. It's super easy and gets great reactions!

It definitely is the best Sharpie Thru Card effect I have ever seen. I get a lot of great reactions from it. I'm hoping Calen will make some more supply that way others can utilize it. Perhaps if you emailed him and requested one he might make one for you.

Since you are experienced with cards, you could always force cards and then either predict or "mind read" the selected from a spectator. Another mentalism practice you can use with cards is equivoque down to a predicted selected card.

I personally use the Raven which will muffle the sound.

My favorite illusion he ever performed was when he took flight. Everything from the set design, music, choreography, and emotions were just pitch perfect! It certainly inspired me to push the belief that anything is possible in magic with my shows.

Sounds like a cool idea to share! I came up with a handling of Utility Move 7 that I share in my video review at 2:03 in the video. I think anyone that owns the effect should be able to figure out what I did and how to properly misdirect a live spectator with it.
