    losing confidence

When you are starting out, you will get caught a lot by friends and family. It's typically because one doesn't practice enough before showing the effect. Once you start getting good at it, you learn to rely on people to expose you so that you can honestly know what people are thinking. Now my...

    Volunteer Magic and Teenagers

Hospital is probably the wrong setting for this one due to very well lit rooms. I really like the suggestions already, and I love what you are doing. I think some simple easy to learn card tricks can go over really well. Even something like Out of this World would be good. I would recommend...

Going to NYC for a few days

I'm not in that area, but do your best to check out Chamber Magic. Lot's to learn from watching Steve perform!

Creating a close up pad help!

I went to a place that relines the interior of cars. I asked for a scrap of headliner material the size I needed. The piece I needed was quite large, but he charged me $5. It's much softer than mousepad material, but still worked for what I needed.

    Dual Reality Signature Duplication?

Oh if a magician could find a way of creating duplicate signed cards, the possibilities are endless! But cannot be done unless as you say a dual reality or a bluff signature. However many of the same effects and impact can be achieved with the Intercessor gimmick. Worth looking into.

How does my Promotional Video look?

Hey nice start! Pictures look fine. I would remove lower quality images and make it shorter. Also you have some font issues. Pick one font and use it the entire way through. The bubble fonts near the beginning look cheap and do not help what you are going for. Also the opening blue background...

    Business Cards

I use them for Stigmata. Oz Pearlman has a great routine idea on his corporate lecture at Penguin. I use that a lot too. But I love love love when people just ask me for one and I can use my Hot leads wallet. So. Fun.

Creating a close up pad help!

What did he use? I know you can pick up some velvet or velour at pretty much any fabric store which should work nicely. (much nicer than felt)

Creating a close up pad help!

I have a nice mat that is just a soft rubber and the fabric on top (Np foam layer. It's quite nice. I looked into making my own because I wanted a larger surface. You will have to use Google to find where you can get the best deal on bulk rubber mats shipped to your area.

    Uncaged. Untamed.

With your title, I was hoping to see some extreme dove magic. But your video was fun too ;)

Greg Wilson - Live at The Table

Sorry, just saw this. I am in the same boat as you and I jumped in and got this. Unfortunately, it's the same stuff. A couple of small new presentations and small effects, but much of the same stuff as his penguin lectures (which had more content). I think the goal was for there to be new stuff...

Creating a close up pad help!

I'm certainly not an expert on this but have investigated for my own purposes. I found that a velour type fabric works well and mounted on a mouse pad rubber, or if you like softer, a bit of car headliner material. As far as adhesive, I don't know.

Book with Oneliners and Spongeball Jokes

Heh, I find I don't need jokes with sponge balls. They are balls and some people will start their own jokes and I find it funnier to act like "oh my, you didn't just go there". They howel because they (or their friend) is the funniest person in the room.
