It provides you with the gimmick, and teaches you how to set up. Fantastic effect.

Deflecting Thoughts and False Memories. Essay #10 by JDG

Fantastic advice Jamie. I especially like the bit about planting the false memory. It is very easy to ask questions about them, as people love to talk about themselves.

    Topit

A tailor is the way to go, unless you know someone who has done that sort of sewing. It's fairly easy to do, but does require some knowledge.

    "Fake exposure"

Ha ha, that's wicked. I sometimes feel bad because of all the hate mail I get from Magicians who say I'm ruining the art. Well, I'm glad the idea helped someone! Welcome to the forums!

Whats your go to effect, when put on the spot?

Stigmata is stellar. I've used the business card version to close corporate shows. Even if someone figures out how the marks are made, that's not entirely the effect on the crowd.

    Do you Crack your Knuckles?

I've been cracking my knuckles since I was a young teenager, and I wouldn't say I'm the most dexterous person, but I also haven't noticed any big changes in dexterity from then to now (I'm 29 now). However, it's probably a good habit to drop, as it is potentially harmful (according to rumor)...

    Killer Effects At My Restaurant

When I did restaurant magic, I did TT work, lots of different card effects, a few things from Gregory Wilson's on the spot, and a few things from I AoA. One thing I really miss not doing restaurants, is that it is an excellent opportunity to test out new material.

    EMC shipping DVD's to Retailers

Does it change your life if Joe Somebody gets his DVDs before you? No it does not. Are you getting a stupid ridiculous deal that is worth waiting for? You bet. Is this delay worth getting worked up over? Nope. Their communication could have been better, but other than that, all this nonsense...

    Finding Your Name

I agree with the above. Kingsbury is a great name. Kingsbury Magic is terrific and sounds very professional. I would say you would do well to use the royalty in your name as an asset in marketing.

    Critique Website Please

To be fair, I assume that once he has a design he likes, then he will pay for a domain. No point in paying for a domain without a site to go with it. And I found wix to be really easy to use and am achieving first page results when you search Edmonton magicians, and I still have lots to add. So...

    How much should I charge?

Do a lot more shows before you start charging. Volunteer any chance you get. Being an entertainer is more than just having a series of tricks you do well. You will only learn that by doing more shows. Once you are good enough, people will start offering to pay you to see more. How much you...
