    Topits-JSB, Ammar or David Penn

I have Ammar's, and I am unfamiliar with the others. I liked the idea that it is harder to overthrow the item because of the 'backstop' and that you can access the item from the pocket. (not to mention the huge amount of positive reviews) Hope that helps! j

Looking for visual, impromptu, card tricks. (Suggestions)

Hands down a great effect. Play with the patter a bit, and you have an effect that can incorporate 2-3 people, and is quite easy and impromptu.

    Magic-Con 2010 Special Guest - Announced!

I was thinking Ricky Jay for a long time. I don't think it's Juan. (make sure you get a vid of that ;) )

    My Little Experiment

I usually use a couple decks in a show. A few springs and I'm good to go. I will have to look into the J. Jay idea.

    Custom Cards

The printing is pretty good. I was satisfied, but the cards themselves, were not great quality, and don't fan at all.

I think perhaps you are confusing a few people. What I hear you saying overall, is that you think creative people just are creative and new ideas just come to them, and you think it is wrong, or at lease not helpful to reverse engineer an effect or to think of new ideas on purpose. If that is...

    The PopChris Project:// Cartoon

It's okay. But you just put the card in the middle and then told him you were going to cut to it. Granted you fail, but the premise is not that impressive to begin with. Find a way to raise the stakes. Shuffle the deck, or have them shuffle. Or perhaps have them cut to the card. Somehow find a...

    Help developing this trick ?

Paul Harris has a version of this on True Astonishment set (vol 1 i believe) called backlash(?). Except signed card goes to the pocket, and re appears in the deck, then goes back to the pocket. Then with a shake the ink 're-arranges' itself to another signature. pretty decent.

Do you really think magic is evil? Do you think it is such a bad thing that morally someone should feel bad about using it? Because that is what your post implies. I feel that with magic, the mechanics are hidden, but the experience is real. It is done for entertainment (or in the case of...

    To Everybody creating "new" effects.

I don't know about "just letting it come to you" though. Perhaps this is too ambiguous. What would be bad about figuring out a method to an idea? Or what is bad about showing people your ideas, good or bad? What harm is done from learning that way? Is it just the annoyance of reading " I...

    To Everybody creating "new" effects.

I think I'm going to have to disagree entirely. In business and leadership, it is often said that to get one truly good working idea, one must go through hundreds (in some cases thousands) of crappy ideas. Once that one idea is found, it can be worked into something great. This is why...

I think you nailed it. I would add the following: 1. God doesn't really care about numbers per se. Sometimes in ministry (which this would be), numbers need to be the least of our worries. this means that 2. the focus should be on a) the quality of what we are doing, and b) relying...

Great thoughts. If I might put my 2 cents in, I would say that if your intention is to do your magic for (the glory of) God, then Scripturally, the Christian is called to do their absolute best. Which means, if God has equipped you to use the particular talent of Magic to further his Kingdom...

Sigh, it was good while it lasted. Don't forget that you can't always believe everything you watch in a movie;) Now at Theory 11, they are trying to foster a community of respect. Phenomena, I've reported a number of your posts because of your constant insults. Please refrain from working...
