    pontas spellbound

I have now practiced the vanish routine for almost 1 year , about 3 hours a day on average. The whole routine, especially the transfer, is still not as smooth as him. It takes years, many years. I talked to him and he said he has been practicing the transfer 5 years before he even created...

    Coin Vanish From Sick

Yep. Ponta has told me he does not perform it for laypeople, because he still can't do it perfect (drops the coin sometimes). If he can't do it perfect, I don't think many can. But I'm going to continue to practice it and make it better.

    De'vo's Secret books Review

I asked de'vo what was in the book and he couldn't really explain the ring effects that well because it is underground. He told me I would have to buy it. The whole XCM thing is pretty strict on materials being underground and stuff...

    Complete beginner:

I got sick by ponta the smith. But I am at the skill level it is still difficult because of the nature of the DVD, but I have my basics down. I got homer liwags coin one because I needed to learn the flash production taught in tenkai pennies and coins across. Now I just need a shell. So...

    Coin Vanish From Sick

I see loren's point. However I've been working on the vanish for quite some time now. It's coming along. If someone is sitting down, its not a problem, as long as they are standing in front of you. Audience management is key. If you're performing for a group of people and they know your a...

SICK by Ponta the Smith Review

He doesn't teach it. And it's very hard to do. I learned it from Coins Across New York Coin Magic, from Koyona Harbottle (sp?). It was Curtis kam's orignal idea. After i learned it I sent Curtis a PM on the magic cafe for some tips. Now it's just practicing it and getting it usable.

    Coin Matrix

Another good one is david stone's "Cocktail matrix", on his second coin magic vol 2 DVD. Check it out. As a final kicker, the copper coin you put in your pocket travels to the spectator's hand and changes into a half dollar.

SICK by Ponta the Smith Review

Ponta has told me that the vanish is actualy easier with half dollars than morgan dollars. I would recommend either half dollars (silver) or morgan dollars. Silver coins have more weight to them. Just once you get used to the heft of a morgan a half dolla coin or lighter takes some getting used...

They both are silver dollars, just a different design, same amount of silver.

SICK by Ponta the Smith Review

Yep, I got the DVD too. I was already a coin magician but agree it is difficult, more fun that way. I reviewed it on ellusionist and magic cafe. Working on the vanish routine. Been at it 4 days, 6 hours of practice a day. It will probably take me a couple months to get it technically right...

    Sick Spellbound Midnight Practice Session

    Back palm Tips

You can also go from backpalm to tenkai palm/clip by letting go of the coin and let it hang , then reproduce it. To do it good, choose a coin that rests easily on the fingers in front finger hold. The coin has to be the right size, but not too big or small. Once you find the right size coin...

    Palming Coins All Day Long

Because the back of the hand is where it is most apparant you are classic palming a coin. All classic palms look the same at the palm view. The fingers are curled in because this is how a natural hand would look at rest.

    Palming Coins All Day Long

Here's a quick shot of my CP, the hand is still slightly rounded after years of practice. Again it looks better in motion. http://i10.photobucket.com/albums/a134/spacetimecont/DSCF0017-3.jpg

    Palming Coins All Day Long

Great reply chase! That's exactly what I mean, I'm proficient in the classic palm but am far from mastering it. I will post a picture of my hand once the batteries are charged in my camera. It is OK, it looks good in motion. Here's one of my videos where I utilized the classic...

    Palming Coins All Day Long

What I meant' was 10 years + to truly master it, to get it as good as david roth or david stone. Some people learn at different rates, some people will pick it up faster and for some reason some people it always looks like they're 'squeezing oranges' and they cannot classic palm well ever, I'm...
