    How to stop magic piracy?

Magic exposure is never going to stop. I'd encourage everyone to do what I started doing a few years ago and make the most ridiculous fake "exposure" video you can think of for every trick that comes out. FYI, Calen's channel has about 125k subscribers right now, and it's about to blow up...

    Anchorman: Street Magic Parody

I made a new video of Ron Burgundy hitting the Vegas strip to do some "amazing" "street magic". Hope you like! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J3PGTL_eBnI

    That WTF moment

I was on stage at my second stage show (ever) in front of a youth group. For some reason, I decided it would be a great idea to perform mentalism for tweens. Never do this. I did a Hoy book test with a 13 year old girl who came on stage, couldn't remember the word she thought of, and burst...

The Laser Deal Revealed on Youtube?

I don't know how people don't have a basic sense of respect or ethics for the art they claim to love. I've heard SOOOOOOO many excuses for why people "deserve" to reveal magic, and steal magic... and it all seems to get down to a sense of entitlement at the end of the day. My favorite of all...

    Most Well Designed Magic Book

Have you read the Art Of Astonishment series by Paul Harris? Sounds like it's right up your alley. Edit: You might also want to pick up The Annotated Words Of Slydini. It's been a while since I've looked through it, but from what I remember, the wording and annotations are great, and the...

    Helping with gambling routine

Have you read Expert At The Card Table? It's pretty much required reading for what you're talking about. It will give you an excellent foundation in exactly what you're going to be doing; both the history and the moves. From there, you may want to check out L&L's "Worlds Greatest Magic...

How to create a stage name

Hey man, that's cool. I was mostly kidding with what I said; if you really want a stage name, you should go for it!

How to create a stage name

Don't. Haha kidding... kind of. I wanted to change my last name into a cool stage name when I was younger, because "Anderson" is so common. I decided not to go with a stage name, because my on stage "character" is just an extension of who I am in real life. If I was playing the part of a...

First Magic Experience You Remember - Share

I remember seeing a clown pull a quarter out of another kids ear and doing other silly tricks like the breakaway wand, but the first time I really felt I saw *magic* was seeing David Copperfield on TV when I was five. It was his Bermuda Triangle or Orient Express special, and I really felt that...

    Kyle Marlett's Spooning

I'd like to see it a little closer up, but it looks basically like a retention vanish and a strike vanish? Not criticizing it, just wondering if that's what his project teaches, because those are both taught in extensively in other books/downloads. In any case, I enjoyed watching your video!

    The Pass

Hey Pav, just curious, what resources are you using to learn from? Which books/dvds/downloads? One thing that helped me a lot after I'd read up on the pass in a few card books was a dvd simply called "Richard Kauffman On The Pass". Fantastic resource that helped me a lot. By the way, has...

    The Wire

Keep learning and practicing all you can; my advice would be to read a book called Royal Road To Card Magic, and then Expert Card Technique. for under $25, you will learn a LOT about card magic from these books, and will have a lot to go on when trying to develop your own tricks.

    FOC by me

What the effing what?? Loved it! I know how this could work if it's gimmicked, but if there's no gimmick, then I really don't know. It looks fantastic though, and I'd love to see a longer routine!

    Guitar and Card Handling

The most amazing guitarist I know, Rob Tahan of Ashes Remain, is also a great magician. Years of shredding away on the guitar never seemed to get in his way of doing any sleights. Just a bit of FYI :-)

    My first video!

Well, I didn't think I could watch a 3 minute cardistry video, but I ended up watching the whole thing! I thought it was interesting; I liked the different take on the camera work for sure; you don't see that a lot in cardistry vids. He could use some work on proper framing, but it was still...
