Good work for starting a few weeks ago! The glide was about the only card sleight I knew for like the first few months I started learning magic. Keep it up!
Royal Road to Card Magic is great to start with, Card College can be a little daunting at first. Mark Wilson's Encyclopedia of Magic or Joshua Jay's Magic: The Complete Course are also great books for the beginner. Those should both be available on Amazon.com
You could try applying different amounts of pressure with your fingers. Sometimes with a very light touch a card will "stick" to your finger (no licking needed) whereas to much pressure can cause cards to not separate. Sometimes it is surprising how little pressure is needed.
This playing card back was designed by https://twitter.com/#!/balloonandmagic. Would like to hear what everybody thinks. Thanks for your input!

Great looking cards and box. I would prefer white faces be printed with white boarders and black faces with black boarders. Thanks for sharing your designs. Hope you decided to print them.
I would like to see all three. If you end up submitting them I would like to hear about your experience with the wire. An inside look could help other magicians with their efforts.
Crazy Man Handcuffs, Missing Link, and Stairway are the three rubberband tricks I perform the most. They are all great effects. I would start with learning Stairway. Somewhat easy to learn and people really like it.
I think you see what you're looking for when it is not really there. Any "pause" is me taking my time because I'm relaxed and I feel I have nothing to hide.
Here is a video of me performing a strike double several times.

TheatreHead's post is dead on. The important thing is what the spectator thinks has happened.
